Spark Sustainability is looking for a Business Developer to support our go-to-market strategy and company growth.

About Spark Sustainability & our mission

Spark Sustainability leverages carbon emission data to improve customer conversion and employee engagement for our partners. We consult businesses in emission calculations and offer digital tools that highlight the climate benefits of low-carbon products.

Our mission is to enable 1 billion climate actions by 2025. This will result in a reduction of more than 100 billion kg of CO2, or roughly twice the annual emissions of Finland.

About our products

Our climate app for organisations helps engage employees to ensure that ambitious climate targets are reached. The app makes climate work a fun and effortless part of our customers’ day-to-day business, all while educating employees and strengthening the employer brand.

With our carbon handprint tools, companies can show how their low-carbon products and services can help consumers reduce their lifestyle emissions.

Here’s what you’ll do as part of the Spark team:

  • Build a B2B sales funnel from prospects to closing sales. This includes initiating and taking meetings with clients
  • Brainstorm and prepare offers together with our team, and follow up on these offers
  • Find value proposal and price points for our products
  • Develop, analyse, and iterate on our offering
  • Benchmark competitors and competing products
  • Overarching analysis of which cases are the most profitable and how the company sales strategy & process can be improved
  • Report the results of your work to the CEO

Here are the skills and experience you’ll need to be successful:

  • Solid sales, business, client as well as analytical skills and curiosity to use data
  • Experience in driving new business opportunities from idea to implementation
  • Experience in software and B2B sales
  • Great communication skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English
  • >5 years of experience in sales or business development roles

Practical information:

  • Location: Helsinki (Maria 01), possibility to work remotely 40% of the time
  • Type of employment: full-time
  • Compensation: fixed monthly salary + sales provision

Please note that we are a start-up and unable to meet >7keur monthly salary requirements. This job is ideal for an experienced person who relies on their own ability to generate additional income through sales provision, and would like to join and grow an interesting startup together with a great team with access to funding.
